Recap: Sunset Apollos vs. South Eugene Axe
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Sunset Apollos ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 89-84 win over South Eugene. The win was just business as usual for Sunset, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Despite the loss, South Eugene still got an impressive performance from Trey Saunders, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 10 rebounds. Saunders scored a full 33.3% of South Eugene's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Hawes, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds.
Sunset's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for South Eugene, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Sunset will head out on the road to face off against Gresham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Eugene, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Salem at 6:45 p.m.
