Softball Recap: Eastchester Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Eastchester won the last time they faced Scarsdale and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles blew past the Raiders 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sabrina Cosgrove made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kylie Reardon was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sophia Gutirrez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Eastchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Eastchester's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Scarsdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Eastchester didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against White Plains on the 18th. Scarsdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
