Baseball Recap: Austin's Win Ends 16-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Austin hadn't done well against Irvin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in March.

Adrian Frias was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Frias wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Castro, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Austin's win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-18. As for Irvin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19-1 record this season.

Austin will have a chance to go back-to-back against Irvin: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
