Softball Recap: Mahanoy Area Takes a Loss

Mahanoy Area lost against Marian Catholic back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Bears took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marian Catholic. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Bears have lost by exactly five runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Mahanoy Area and nudges their season record down to 8-12. As for Marian Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Mahanoy Area will head out to challenge Williams Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 13.6 runs per game this season. As for Marian Catholic, they will host Shenandoah Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Marian Catholic's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Shenandoah Valley has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
