Basketball Recap: Cuba-Rushford Triumphs

After only 28 points in their last match, Cuba-Rushford made sure to put some points up on the board against Canisteo-Greenwood on Saturday. The Cuba-Rushford Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 win over the Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers. For the Rebels, this counts as revenge for the 56-52 victory the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Cuba-Rushford has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Canisteo-Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Cuba-Rushford has already played their next game (against Houghton Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Canisteo-Greenwood will head out to challenge Hornell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hornell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Canisteo-Greenwood likes a good challenge.
