Basketball Recap: Mapleton Comes Up Short

Mapleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 60-43 bruising from the New London Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-50 two weeks ago.

Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for New London, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Coming up, Mapleton will head out to take on Lake Center Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mounties will need to watch out since the Tiger have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for New London, they will be playing at home against Crestview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.41 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
