California suffered their biggest loss since January 12, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats, falling 73-44. The defeat continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

When it comes to explaining why California lost, don't look at Emeka Ifediora. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Anish Chilikuri, who earned eight points.

California's loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Dougherty Valley, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-6.
