Recap: Calais Blue Devils vs. Penobscot Valley Howlers
The Calais Blue Devils managed to keep up with the Penobscot Valley Howlers until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Calais was outmatched by Penobscot Valley on the road and fell 66-30. Calais was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Penobscot Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.
Despite the loss, Calais still got an impressive performance from Kate McPhee, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Scott, who scored six points.
Calais now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Penobscot Valley, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calais will challenge Machias at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Machias will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Penobscot Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
