League recap: Princeton stuns North Duplin in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Princeton, who took down 248th ranked North Duplin, 28-21. Michael Wooten threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 34 yards in the win.

Goldsboro extended the longest winning streak in 1A Carolina this week by beating Dixon, 40-0. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Cougars.

Kameron McDougald was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bulldogs bested the Rebels. McDougald racked up three receptions for 51 yards. Johnny Frasier helped Princeton's passing attack out by catching two balls for 23 yards.

Rasheid Malette was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 190 yards on 22 carries as Goldsboro topped North Duplin. Rasheed Rawlings also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.

Eric Reid's team's Julius Murphy and Joseph Baker have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A Carolina in both passing and receiving yards. Murphy has thrown for 1987 yards this season, while Baker, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 44 catches for 583 yards. Tyler Royal from Hugh Martin's team leads the league in rushing with 2046 yards.

The Cougars' Murphy is within 13 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Northampton County.

Ayden-Grifton took down Gates County 57-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
