Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Greer

Southside is 0-6 against Greer since March of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Southside will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Southside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Fountain Inn with a sharp 6-1 win. The result was nothing new for Southside, who have now won 11 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Fountain Inn with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from ANTHONEY BEDOLLA (2), ERIK MARTINEZ (2), ADRIEL RODRIGUEZ, and JUAN ACOSTA.

Meanwhile, Greer earned a 3-1 victory over Lancaster on Saturday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Greer's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Lancaster are ranked 67th).

Southside's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. As for Greer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
