Soccer Game Preview: Lemont vs. Boylan Catholic

The Lemont Lemont HS will take on the Boylan Catholic Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lemont comes in on seven and Boylan Catholic on six.

Lemont is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Tinley Park a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. Lemont's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven matches.

Meanwhile, Boylan Catholic's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Freeport. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Boylan Catholic's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Freeport are ranked 221st).

Gabe Moore and Edin Muhic scored both of Boylan Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Lemont's victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Boylan Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-1.

Lemont came up short against Boylan Catholic in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, falling 2-0. Can the Lemont HS avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
