Baseball Game Preview: Scarsdale Raiders vs. Mamaroneck Tigers

Scarsdale is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Mamaroneck is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Raiders will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scarsdale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Mamaroneck's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Scarsdale's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when North Rockland hitters got past them. Scarsdale came up short against North Rockland on Monday, falling 10-3. Scarsdale's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Mamaroneck had just enough and edged out New Rochelle 4-3 on Thursday. The four-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mamaroneck has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Scarsdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Scarsdale couldn't quite get it done against Mamaroneck in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
