Basketball Recap: Hawley Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Hawley rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-46 win over the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines. The Nuggets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Hawley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenna Walker, who posted 19 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Walker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Sanvik, who scored 11 points and four steals.

The victory (which was Hawley's third in a row) raised their record to 14-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points over those games. As for Wadena-Deer Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10.

Hawley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 69-49 defeat against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on the 1st. Wadena-Deer Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
