Volleyball Game Preview: Natomas Nighthawks vs. Destiny Christian Academy Lions

After both having extra time off, the Natomas Nighthawks and the Destiny Christian Academy Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Destiny Christian Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Natomas, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Natomas made easy work of Woodland and carried off a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Destiny Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Dixon.

While Destiny Christian Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17.

Destiny Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Natomas, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's game: Natomas has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7 aces per game. However, it's not like Destiny Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
