The Duluth Wildcats will take on the Brookwood Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Duluth has given up an average of 27 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Duluth challenged Parkview on Friday. The Wildcats took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Despite 184 more yards than the Panthers, the Wildcats couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Duluth got top-tier performance from Demarcus Rogers, who rushed for 198 yards and one TD on only ten carries. The Wildcats are 2-1 when Rogers posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Shamar Banner, who gained 303 total yards.
Meanwhile, Brookwood entered their tilt with Peachtree Ridge on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 45-27 victory over the Lions. The Broncos pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.
Duluth better keep an eye on Brayden Tyson. He was instrumental in Brookwood's win, rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Tyson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 97-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Chatman, who threw for 205 yards and one TD on only 15 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Brookwood's defense made their presence known, laying out Rayshaun Parks four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Brookwood got some further help from Daniel Diggs: he made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended three passes.
Brookwood's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Duluth, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Duluth has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 223.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Brookwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 200.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Duluth came up short against Brookwood when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 43-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tyson, who rushed for 290 yards and three scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown. Now that the Wildcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
