Baseball Recap: Gretna Hawks vs. Appomattox County Raiders

Gretna had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it five. They fell just short of the Appomattox County Raiders by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in April.

Gretna saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jay Dalton, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Dalton's first of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gretna will venture away from home to challenge Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Minutemen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.85 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
