Basketball Game Preview: Redeemer Christian Lions vs. First Coast Christian Knights + How To Watch

The Redeemer Christian Lions will take on the First Coast Christian Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Lions fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They walked away with a 64-52 win over Ocala Christian on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Crusaders on their court since January 4, 2024.

Redeemer Christian found their leader in sophomore Jackson LaFirst, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 26 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Caleb Schwab, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, First Coast Christian hadn't done well against Beaches Chapel recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 62-40 victory. The Knights pushed the score to 51-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Redeemer Christian better keep an eye on Dylan Larsen. He was instrumental in First Coast Christian's win, shooting 44% from the field on his way to 27 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Bradshaw, who went 7-for-17 en route to 17 points.
