Football Recap: Colonial Piles Up the Points Against University

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Colonial walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the University Cougars 46-0. The Grenadiers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Colonial found their leader in sophomore Iliana Dorvilus, who rushed for 20 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 66 yards and a pair of TDs. Dkyra Youmans made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Colonial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dorvilus and Youmans. Dorvilus got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win (which was Colonial's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.0 points on average over those games. As for University, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Colonial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-7 win against Winter Park on the 15th. University does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
