Baseball Recap: Rockwall Takes a Loss

If Rockwall was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of North Forney on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flower Mound Jaguars on Monday. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Rockwall has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Flower Mound, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-10.

Rockwall and Flower Mound are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against Sachse at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rockwall 2.4, the Mustangs 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Flower Mound, they will take on Prosper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
