Volleyball Recap: Isobel Cullen and Alexa Gage Secure Win for Vandegrift

Vandegrift posted their closest win since November 15, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Leander Lions. The win was familiar territory for the Vipers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Leading Vandegrift to victory were Alexa Gage and Isobel Cullen. Gage had seven digs and three aces, while Cullen had ten digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Cullen a new career-high. Jenna Hehman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Vandegrift's record is now 8-2. As for Leander, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Vandegrift wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against La Vernia on the 16th. As for Leander, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Cedar Ridge on the 19th.
