Baseball Recap: Patterson Drops Highest Score of Season Against East Union

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patterson). They came out on top against the East Union Lancers by a score of 11-6 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Max Medina made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Cole Medina was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Chagoya, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Patterson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for East Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Patterson will have a chance to go back-to-back against East Union: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
