Soccer Game Preview: Troy vs. Esperanza

Troy and Esperanza are an even 2-2-2 against one another since December of 2014, but likely not for long. The Troy Warriors will be playing at home against the Esperanza Aztecs at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Troy's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Troy is headed into Wednesday's following a draw, the team's first since December 19. Neither they nor Crean Lutheran could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Esperanza didn't have quite enough to beat Crean Lutheran on Wednesday and fell 2-1. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Travis Rivera, who's now up to eight this season.

Esperanza now has a losing record at 5-6-3. With that draw, Troy's record moves to 8-3-4.

Troy was able to grind out a solid victory over Esperanza in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 2-0. Will Troy repeat their success, or does Esperanza have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
