Basketball Recap: Greenville Christian Comes Up Short

Greenville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 53-21 loss at the hands of Longview Christian. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-17 two weeks ago.

Longview Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madi Newlin out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Newlin is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Lily Hildebrand was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten steals.

Greenville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Longview Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Christian Heritage the next time they take the court. Longview Christian will host Christian Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th, while Greenville Christian will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
