Softball Recap: Saugerties Takes a Loss

The Saugerties Sawyers didn't have quite enough to beat the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Sawyers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Saugerties saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Cogswell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Saugerties' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Monroe-Woodbury, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saugerties will host Chatham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monroe-Woodbury, they will be playing at home against Newburgh Free Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Goldbacks have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
