Basketball Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

Lebanon lost against Nixa back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lebanon Yellowjackets were beaten by the Nixa Eagles 85-56. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

Despite the loss, Lebanon still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Perryman, who went 8-for-10 on her way to 20 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Perryman now owns an excellent 46.1% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Myers, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Lebanon and nudges their season record down to 9-13. As for Nixa, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lebanon will square off against Waynesville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nixa, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
