Basketball Recap: Jordan Womack Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Manor New Tech

The third road match was the charm for Marlin, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 50-40 win over Manor New Tech on Saturday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while Manor New Tech are ranked 1179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marlin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Womack, who posted 20 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Womack a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aarik Smith-Shelley, who had 13 points and five blocks.

Marlin's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Manor New Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlin will take on Riesel at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manor New Tech, they will host Travis at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
