Baseball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-4 to the Legacy Lightning. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lightning apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mason Foran made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season.

Horizon's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Legacy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4.

Coming up, Horizon will square off against Boulder at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Legacy, they will challenge Longmont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Lightning's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
