The Highland Hornets will challenge the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Highland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Highland and Roosevelt meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Hornets walked away with a 6-3 win over the Rough Riders. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Rough Riders: they've now won three in a row.

Luke McCool looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Casey Myser, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Gibb, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cuyahoga Falls). They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Springfield on Friday. The Black Tigers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024 (when they won 16-0).
Braylon Davis was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Cuyahoga Falls: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-12 otherwise. Noah Kolvey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Cuyahoga Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only managed three hits.
Cuyahoga Falls' win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Highland came up short against Cuyahoga Falls when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
