Softball Recap: South Comes Up Short

Riverside hit South with a ten-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels lost 16-1 to the Beavers. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Beavers: they've now lost four in a row.

South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Violet Dichazy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Riverside, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

South and Riverside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Rebels will challenge St. Joseph Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (219 vs. 447). Meanwhile, Riverside (ranked seventh) will meet Mayfield (ranked 384th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
