Basketball Recap: Ukiah Wildcats vs. Healdsburg Greyhounds
The Ukiah Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 92-30 win over Healdsburg. Winning may never get old, but Ukiah sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Tony Zacarias was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Schank, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Ukiah pushed their record up to 21-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Healdsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.
Ukiah will be playing at home against the Lobos at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elsie Allen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 801st, while the Wildcats are ranked 173rd). Healdsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
