Jasper County took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Piedmont Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hurricanes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Cougars on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Hurricanes: when they faced off against the Cougars on Monday, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-98) Jasper County actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 22-25, 11-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-13.

The victory got Jasper County back to even at 1-1. As for Piedmont Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper County will challenge Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piedmont Academy, they will face off against Gatewood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
