The Sheridan Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sheridan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.

Sheridan gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over White Hall. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since May 11, 2024.

Marly Lancaster was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Sterritt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Sheridan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three strikeouts batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Greene County Tech got the win against Paragould on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-1. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Greene County Tech and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Sheridan, their record now sits at 7-1.

Sheridan couldn't quite finish off Greene County Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
