Basketball Recap: Tintic Comes Up Short

Tintic extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They came up short against the Panguitch Bobcats, falling 63-42. The matchup marked the Miners' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Tintic lost, don't look at Haygen Jameson. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points along with seven boards and five assists. That was a full 40.5% of the Miners' points, marking the fifth time in a row Jameson has scored more than a third of the team's points. Braylon Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight rebounds.

As for Panguitch, their record is now 3-4. That looming 63-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Casey Walter went supernova, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. What's more, he also posted an 88% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Coby Bentley, who earned 12 points.

Tintic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-50 defeat against Millard on the 13th. As for Panguitch, they will be home for the holidays to greet Piute at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
