Volleyball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Stony Point Tigers.

Southwest's offense was headlined by Deborah Alele and Mayra Medina, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Amiah Gonzales and her seven assists.

Leading Stony Point to victory were Jullia Howser and Lexi Boyer. Howser had 13 digs and three assists, while Boyer had five digs and one assist. That's the most digs Howser has posted over her last six contests. Zoe Janda also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Stony Point, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Southwest has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Brock on the 22nd. As for Stony Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against East View on the 22nd.
