Castro Valley proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Alameda Hornets 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Hornets last Wednesday, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Castro Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alameda, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 21-4.

Castro Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-2 victory against San Marin on the 20th. As for Alameda, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against California on the 22nd.
