Soccer Game Preview: Walkertown vs. South Stokes

Walkertown is 0-3 against South Stokes since March of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wolfpack will head out to challenge the Sauras at 6:00 p.m.

Walkertown is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 3-0 to West Stokes. While losing is never fun, Walkertown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 537th, while West Stokes are ranked 250th).

South Stokes hadn't beaten Mount Airy on the road since May 12, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Sauras were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Granite Bears. The win made it back-to-back victories for South Stokes.

Walkertown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-2. As for South Stokes, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.

Walkertown couldn't quite get it done against South Stokes when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
