Baseball Game Preview: East Bernard Brahmas vs. Brazos Cougars

For the second straight game, East Bernard will face off against Brazos. The Brahmas will face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Bernard will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, East Bernard earned a 6-1 victory over Brazos.

Max Mangum made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brandon Rucka, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

East Bernard pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Brazos, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
