Baseball Game Preview: Eastview Lightning vs. Eagan Wildcats

The Eastview Lightning will face off against the Eagan Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Eastview nor Eagan posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Eastview managed to slip by Farmington the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lightning came up short against the Tigers on Wednesday, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, Eagan got themselves on the board against Lakeville North on Wednesday, but Lakeville North never followed suit. They won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 1-0.

Eagan got a great performance from Brendan Mademann as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 7.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Eagan saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Lunneborg, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Eastview's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eagan, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
