Basketball Recap: Emmett Delp Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ness City

St. John won the last time they faced Ness City and things went their way on Friday too. The St. John Tigers took down the Ness City Eagles 62-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmett Delp, who posted 18 points. Delp's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Braxton Alpers was another key player, putting up 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Ness City lost, don't look at Charles Parsons. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points along with seven boards and four blocks. The dominant performance also gave Parsons a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Benjamin Durham, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

St. John is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Ness City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

St. John wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-46 win against Little River on the 11th. Ness City has also already played their next contest, a 49-32 victory against Spearville on the 14th.
