Basketball Recap: Nowata Comes Up Short

Nowata played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 46-17 loss at the hands of the Dewey Bulldoggers. The Ironmen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

Dewey found their leader in freshman Presley Smith, who went 7 for 12 to rack up 23 points.

Nowata's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-14-1. As for Dewey, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.

Coming up, Nowata will be playing in front of their home fans against Oklahoma Union at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nowata is facing Oklahoma Union at the right time seeing as Oklahoma Union is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Dewey, they will venture away from home to challenge Caney Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
