Football Recap: Oak Park Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oak Park can now relate to. They were dealt a 55-14 defeat at the hands of the Liberty North Eagles on Friday. The Northmen just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Zemar Cheatam continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liberty North, rushing for 139 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries. The Eagles are 4-1 when Cheatam posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Smith, who threw for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Oak Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Liberty North, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Oak Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty North, they will challenge Park Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
