Softball Recap: Los Osos' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Los Osos blew Alta Loma out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Alta Loma got their revenge. The Los Osos Grizzlies fell just short of the Alta Loma Braves by a score of 7-5. The Grizzlies' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Los Osos saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Estep, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Estep has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Aubrey Chung, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Los Osos' loss dropped their record down to 11-3-1. As for Alta Loma, their record now sits at 6-4.

Los Osos and Alta Loma should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Los Osos (ranked 105th) will meet Lakewood (ranked 316th) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Los Osos' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Alta Loma's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Alta Loma will take on Rancho Cucamonga at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday up 156 places (142 vs. 298).
