Softball Game Preview: New Lisbon Rockets vs. Wonewoc-Center Wolves

The New Lisbon Rockets will venture away from home to challenge the Wonewoc-Center Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

New Lisbon took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Necedah, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rockets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cardinals 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rockets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wonewoc-Center, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Brookwood 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since May 9, 2024.

Wonewoc-Center's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for New Lisbon, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

New Lisbon took their victory against Wonewoc-Center in their previous matchup on April 8th by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
