Football Recap: Braden River Comes Up Short

Braden River extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They were beaten by the Manatee Hurricanes 55-20. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

Louisen Desinor threw for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Kerry Peacock was his top target, picking up 85 receiving yards. On the ground, David Louis rushed for 32 yards.

As for Manatee, their win bumped their record up to 4-5. Considering they have won three games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Manatee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caedon White, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. White also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Hurricanes are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Mason Summer was another key signal caller, throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Braden River will host George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manatee, they will face off against Riverview Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
