Softball Recap: Troy Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Troy had won four straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 7-4 to make it five. They skirted past the North Penn-Liberty Mountie 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Mountie back in March, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

As for North Penn-Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly two runs.

For North Penn-Liberty's part, Elyna Booth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. Booth has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Penn-Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Graham, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Graham's first of the season.

Looking ahead, Troy will venture away from home to face off against Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Penn-Liberty, they will welcome Hughesville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mountie's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
