Basketball Game Preview: Macomb Bombers vs. Illini West Chargers

The Macomb Bombers will head out to face off against the Illini West Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Illini West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Macomb, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Macomb didn't have too much trouble with Liberty as they won 59-43. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Illini West was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 54-50 to Havana. The Chargers have struggled against the Ducks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Macomb's victory bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Illini West, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-13.

Macomb strolled past Illini West in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 45-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Macomb since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
