Volleyball Game Preview: The Cambridge School Griffins vs. Monarch Royals

The Cambridge School Griffins will head out on the road to square off against the Monarch Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The Cambridge School lost 3-0 to Mountain Empire on Wednesday. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-14.

Meanwhile, while it was Monarch who put the first sets on the board on Tuesday, it was San Diego Academy who put up more. The Royals fell 3-1 to the Cavaliers. While the Royals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cavaliers 25-0 in the first set.

Monarch started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 0-25, 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

The Cambridge School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

The Cambridge School might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Monarch in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Griffins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
