With a playoff win on the line, Mize rose to the challenge on Monday. They skirted past the Lake Hornets 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Garrison Carrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Walker Sullivan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Mize's victory bumped their record up to 27-7. As for Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-12.

Mize didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Clarkdale on the 8th. Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
