The Tyler Knights will take on the Braxton County Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Tyler put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They blew past Beallsville 22-3. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Brayden Neff and Gabe Jackson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Neff pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jackson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Neff is becoming a predictor of Tyler's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). At bat, Neff went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases and four runs, while Jackson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Those four runs gave Neff a new career-high.
In other batting news, Landon Boggs and Colby Nichols did most of the damage at the plate: Boggs went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Nichols went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Tyler is undefeated when Nichols posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Reese Davis was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tyler hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beallsville struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Braxton County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Calhoun on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Logan Baldwin was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Baldwin wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luke Kelly, who went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Kelly continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Landon Mays, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
The victory got Tyler back to even at 10-10. As for Braxton County, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Braxton County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tyler has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Braxton County, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain Tyler's hitters?
Tyler beat Braxton County 4-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
