Softball Game Preview: Moody Bearcats vs. Rio Vista Eagles

The Moody Bearcats will take on the Rio Vista Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moody will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Moody is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let De Leon get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Moody, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rio Vista had just enough and edged out Axtell 7-5 on Saturday.

Kailee Dyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Keller Rodriguez was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cloe Zepeda, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Rio Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Moody, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8-1.
